Komodo Dragon Compilation

OUR TOP WILDLIFE PHOTOS FROM

THE KOMODO
NATIONAL PARK

IN NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA

We visited the Komodo National Park twice to visit the Komodo Dragons - once in Feburary during the the wet or monsoon season and again in August during the dry or trade wind season.
Both experiences were very different.
The first set of images is from Febuary and the second set is from August.

NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA
DURING THE WET (MONSOON) SEASON - FEBRUARY 2016

During the wet season we saw mainly Male Dragons that were mostly around 3m/10ft in length.
We watched a pack of Dragons attack a Adult Deer and it received a major wound to its neck and the Dragons were waiting close by for it to die.

Note the large wound to the Deer's neck

KOMODO NATIONAL PARK
DURING THE DRY SEASON - AUGUST

We spent 3 weeks in Labuan Bajo and the Komodo National Park in August 2015.
We explored the island of Rinca and did guided walks with the rangers to see the Komodo Dragons and other amazing wildlife.
In the winter it was breeding season and the big females where making their nests while the large males were fighting amongst themselves for mating rights.
The rangers informed us we might not see many big ones and we mainly saw smaller 1.5m Dragons.

These are our favourite photos from our winter time in the park.
